Although no serious injuries were reported in the four car crash, it is the second serious crash on the same stretch of motorway this week.
This latest incident happened at 6.45am, with the delays causing chaos amongst commuter traffic between Cardiff and Newport.
Second time this week I've been late to work because there's another crash on the M4 in Newport. I really do hate the M4 between Newport and Cardiff...It's like shaking a magic ball to find out whether I'm going to get to work on time đ¤ˇââď¸

At least one crash on the M4 daily with no other routes around it, insane one train per hour routes, utter madness

It caused massive problems on roads around Newport, with drivers heading off the motorway to avoid the queues.
**CUSTOMER NOTICE** An earlier accident on the M4, now cleared, has caused severe traffic congestion between A48M and Malpas junctions affecting the X30 service
