A ROCK musical will be resurrected at a Newport theatre – with several free seats on offer for NHS staff.
Centrestage Cymru return to the stage of Newport’s Dolman Theatre later this week with their presentation of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
The musical, showing from October 20 to October 23, celebrates the 50th anniversary of Jesus Christ Superstar - which launched on Broadway on October 12, 1971.
The musical illustrates the last days of Jesus through drama and song including Jesus’ confrontation with Judas Iscariot, his relationship with Mary Magdalene and Judas betrayal of Jesus at the last supper.
Following Peter’s denial, Jesus is sent by the priests to see Herod before Pilate deals his final verdict on the fate of Jesus.
