A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court.

RICKY EDWARD SMITH, 31, of Limestone Road, Nantyglo, was banned from driving for 18 months after he admitted drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on Steelworks Road, Ebbw Vale, on March 29.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

GAVIN SHIDE, 49, of Capel Street, Bargoed, was banned from driving for 18 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on Commercial Street, Gilfach, on April 20.

He was ordered to pay £497 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

CHARLIE COTTERILL, 23, of St Julian’s Road, Newport, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

KEVIN CUTLER, 35, of Howe Circle, Newport, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on Wilson Road on March 30.

His driving record was endorsed with eight points.

RAYMOND GRAVENOR, 72, of Coed Main, Lansbury Park, Caerphilly, was ordered to pay £574 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving when using a handheld mobile telephone on Lon Yr Odyn on March 30.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

MICHAEL PUNCHEON, 29, of Denny View, Caldicot, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on Dewstow Road on March 30.

His driving record was endorsed with eight points.

RACHAEL REYNOLDS, 29, of Morden Road, Newport, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after she failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

Her driving record was endorsed with six points.

ROBERT ANTHONY DAVIES, 47, of Greenmeadow Way, Cwmbran, was banned from driving for six months for driving without insurance on St Davids Road on February 24.

He was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

GARETH WYSOME, 35, of Brynglas Close, Newport, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
