Crash closes A48 in Chepstow on Hardwick Hill

THE A48 in Chepstow near Hardwick Hill is closed following a road traffic accident.

Police were called to the incident involving a silver Citroen C3 and a blue Ford Focus at 9.55am.

The woman driver of the Citroen was taken to Newport’s Royal Gwent Hospital while her passenger was taken to Abergavenny's Nevill Hall Hospital.

Both suffered leg injuries which are not life-threatening.

The road is remains shut while emergency services are in attendance and the vehicles are recovered.
