Helen Hambleton, of a Newport accountancy firm, has won top prize in the Newport Office Angels Office Proffesional Awards.

The awards provided local employers with an opportunity to reward the people who make a real difference to their businesses and recognise exceptional performance.

The process called on employers to nominate their top performing employees.

Helen Hambleton, from UHY Hacker Young chartered accountants, won the top prize in Newport. She received £50 worth of Love2Shop vouchers, a Hotel Chocolat hamper and a stylish compendium from Dowlis.

Michelle Garrard, branch manager at Office Angels Newport, said: "At Office Angels, we believe it is so important to champion those individuals who keep our local businesses running and it is fantastic to see employers doing the same.”

Paul Byett, managing partner at UHY Hacker Young, said: “We were delighted to nominate Helen as she stepped into a role with a wide scope requiring pragmatism as well as efficient administration skills. She has managed both internal and external relationships with team members, clients and suppliers extremely well. This has been achieved through hard work and a diligent attitude to all tasks."

Chris Moore, managing director of Office Angels, said: “We would like to thank every employer who nominated a colleague for this special show of appreciation. Employee engagement is essential to a healthy and productive workforce, and a culture of recognition goes a long way in boosting team moral and ultimately employer loyalty. We hope that the Office Professional Awards 2015 will inspire employers to periodically review their employees’ performance, and offer their personal thanks to especially hard working staff.”
