EIGHT experts at the forefront of Wales’ marketing industry have been appointed to a new-look board to help lead The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s activities in Wales — including Newport-based communications director, Helen Wild.

And stepping into the roles of vice chairmen are Andy Mudie, business development director at Nuaire in Caerphilly, and Caerphilly-based Dr Gavin Davies, marketing manager at Markes International.

Helen Wild, who lives in the Allt-yr-Yn area of Newport, works for Equinox, a Cardiff-based communications agency, and will use her award-winning skills to raise the profile of CIM and the wider marketing community in Wales.

She said: “The PR profession and the marketing profession have changed massively since I began my career — originally they were treated as completely different functions of a business. Today, there’s so much crossover. And my area of expertise is creating fully-integrated campaigns that work across every level of communications, from PR to social media, and advertising to grassroots marketing, so I’m looking forward to bringing this experience to the CIM Board.”

The trio join data analytics expert Sameer Rahman in his role as chairman, along with vice chairman and marketing lecturer Beth Cummings.

Also appointed to the board is Jemma Oeppen Hill, who has both worked and lectured in fashion marketing, while education consultant, Carl Mather will be responsible for enhancing CIM’s north Wales offer.

Meanwhile, FMCG product marketing expert, Rachel Owen, will be the driving force behind the group’s refreshed events programme.
