NEW figures show the average sales price for houses in the UK rose by 7.2 per cent in 2016.
The Office for National Statistics calculations put the price of a typical UK property at £220,000 in December, marking a £15,000 increase on same month in the previous year. In Wales, average house prices are said to have risen by 4.7 per cent to now stand at £148,000.
We have compiled a list of houses from each of the five county borough council areas in Gwent which are currently available for around the average price for a property in that area.
