CLEVELAND born, songwriter/ performer Joshua Radin’s new album is the self-released title Wax Wings.

Joshua chose to independently release his fifth studio album.

Radin has sold more than 1.5 million singles, half a million albums and has over 75 songs placements in film and TV.

The title Wax Wings comes from Greek Mythology and the story of Icarus and his attempt to escape from Crete (the largest of the Greek Islands) by means of wings that his craftsman father constructed from solely feathers and wax.

Icarus ignored instructions not to fly too close to the sun, and in the process came too close, which melted the wax. The melting wax caused him to fall into the sea where he drowned which today bears his name, the Icarian Sea.

Joshua followed the same path of flight with this album…letting curiosity guide his path in order to conquer the sky.

Joshua recently spoke to Andy Howells about the album:

Your forthcoming album Wax Wings follows on quickly from last years Underwater, have you spent a lot of time in the studio this year?

I have actually. I’ve spent a lot of time on the road as well. I’ve been insanely busy – but busy is good when you love your job.

A lot of your music has been featured in shows like Bones, Scrubs and House, so there’s a good chance people have already been exposed to your music. Do you find this a help for people hearing your music?

Of course. I’ve been saying for years now that tv is the new radio.

What inspired about your album Wax Wings?

It’s the story of a romance with no beginning and no end. You can hop on or off when you feel you must.

It’s like a never-ending carnival ride.

Are you looking forward to visiting the UK and touring over here?

I love touring the UK but I’ve never gotten to go to Wales! Some day hopefully...

What can people expect from your concerts?

They can expect an intimate experience – by the end they will know me a lot better because I tell a lot of personal anecdotes.

What else have you got lined up for this year?

Some touring, some more writing, probably some vacation with friends
