WEST End star John Partridge (A Chorus Line, Cats, EastEnders), Broadway leading man Adrian Zmed (T.J. Hooker, Grease 2) and musical theatre icon Marti Webb (Tell Me on a Sunday) are the leads in the first ever UK tour of a major new production of La Cage Aux Folles. The West End and Broadway award-winning musical comes to the New Theatre, Cardiff, from Tuesday, January 31, to Saturday, February 4.

Georges and the dazzling drag artiste Albin, star of La Cage Aux Folles, live an idyllic existence in St Tropez. But all may be about to change when Georges’ son announces his engagement to the daughter of a notorious right-wing politician determined to close down the local colourful night-life. Drama and hilarity ensue when a meeting of the parents forces them to cover up their vibrant lifestyle. Will Albin be able to play the role of his life to ensure that Jean-Michel can marry his love?

Written by Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Herman, and based on the 1973 French play by Jean Poiret, this smash hit show has won numerous awards, including seven Tony Awards and a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival. The show-stopping score includes The Best of Times, Song on the Sand and the iconic I Am What I Am, which has been recorded by musical legends Gloria Gaynor, Shirley Bassey and Tony Bennett.
