Ahead of Thousand Fingers gig at Newport's Meze Lounge this weekend Andy Howells chats to bass guitarist Geo Morgan

Who are you and where do you originate from?

We are Thousand Fingers, and we formed in Monmouth, South Wales. We are made up of members Charlie Whaley (Vocals), Jack Sargent (Guitar), George Morgan (Bass) and Tobias Chave-Fletcher (Drums).

How long have you been together as a band?

We have been going since February 2011, however due to a line-up change and a re-evaluation of our band, we decided to develop our style and sound further.

How would you describe your style of music?

The phrase that we have put it too is Delodic Rock, which is a blend of a delay sound with a melodic feel on top of a strong rock backbone. It's definitely a fresh style of music, and it always makes writing the music very exciting as we can create all sorts of ideas when writing songs.

What's your best live experience so far?

Best live experience was when we played the o2 Academy 2 in Birmingham on 26th May 2012. The crowd were amazing, and the whole atmosphere with the incredible sound was just mind blowing!

Tell us about your new release!

Our new release is a massive moment in time for us in the band, it's the start of us examining ourselves and taking the band into a new direction. We love writing catchy music, something which you can move to. Our new track 'Connections'' that we released on our bandcamp website has received no end of great comments, and we genuinely believe it's the calling card to the fact we have found our sound.

Where can we catch you live?

We have some really exciting shows on the horizon, on Saturday 5th April, we are headlining our very own release show for our new single 'Connections', which will be held at Meze Lounge, Newport. Entry is £4 for 14 + and every entrant gets a free copy of our single. We also have a show at The Full Moon in Cardiff, supporting the touring band Bleech on Saturday 12th April, which is really exciting as they seem to be a progressive band. We have many more on the horizon so make sure you check us out on www.facebook.com/thousandfingers so that you may find our complete list of upcoming show dates.
