What are your names and where do you come from?

Dave Watkins (guitar, Cardiff); Ian Lewis (bass, Cardiff); Stewart Bottomley (guitar, Chepstow); Bryn Jenkins (drums, Lampeter); and Sorin Annuar (vocals, Cardiff)

When and how did Spyglass come together?

Spyglass formed in late 2011 and started jamming for the first time in January 2012.

We found each other through a mix of a musicians’ website joinmyband and gumtree and went into the studio to record our first ep (Self Made Silencer) in March at Stir Studios in Cardiff.

How would you describe your style of music?

We would say we are a mix of Alternative Rock/Grunge and Classic Rock.

In fact we have invented our own sub genre of “Disco Grunge.” No joke, it’s gonna be huge!

What can people expect from your shows?

Intensity, energy and powerful beats. Our sound has been described as explosive!

What are you working on at the moment?

Playing all the gigs we possibly can and writing new songs.

We’ve written some awesome stuff lately and can’t wait to play the new songs live.

Also the plan is to go back into the studio soon and start recording the next record.

Every time we write or record something new, we evolve as a band and the future is very exciting for us at the moment. Our ambition is to get on the festival circuit this year and start playing more places outside of Cardiff.

Where can we catch you live?

Our next gig is our EP Launch Night, January 9, at The Moon Club, Womaby Street, Cardiff.

It’s free entry, so we hope to see you very soon!
