Who are you and where do you originate from?

We are Raise The Alarm, a fourpiece pop-punk band from Newport.

How did you get interested in music?

We all grew up listening to a lot of pop-punk bands, watching them on TV and in bars like TJ’s and thought it looked pretty cool, something we’d love to do with our lives, so we did something about it.

How would you describe your style of music?

It’s not your typical bubble-gum pop-punk: we take influence from bands like Four Year Strong and A Day to Remember by combining the catchy pop-punk elements with heavier breakdown sections to create songs that we would listen to ourselves.

What’s your best live experience so far?

We have a fewfavourite moments that stick out for separate reasons.

For example, one guy is a bit of a hardcore music fan and close friend of ours, and at a recent local gig he split his head open on a monitor after getting a bit carried away.

We were a bit worried when we looked over and there was blood down his face, but he laughed it off and carried on dancing.

Another fantastic experience was at the last show we played in The Vault. Everyone was in a great mood, and had had a couple of drinks, and the atmosphere was incredible, everyone was having a great time.

We fed from that energy and had the most fun at a showso far!

What are your plans?

Well, we are currently in the practise rooms non-stop, working on a set for our up-and-coming tour with Swedish metal band Sparzanza and Nottingham-based NG26. We will be doing a four-day UK tour, stopping at Manchester, London, Birmingham and finishing off in Cardiff.

Where can we catch you live?

Apart from the tour, nothing planned in the near future, just working hard for the tour as it will be our first time playing out of Wales.
