I FOUND Christchurch Music Society's production of Summer Holiday entertaining and particularly endearing. Taking place in Christchurch Church Hall, Newport, a smaller and cosy setting, I found a great sense of community throughout the whole evening.

The musical tells the tale of a group of lads on a bus tour around Europe where they meet an all-singing trio, while a famous American singer who has runaway from her overbearing mother hides aboard the bus, and the group make their way to Athens for the girls' live performances.

It's a story of blossoming love and adventure and one that makes the audience feel good. I really enjoyed the evening and in a smaller setting the performers' love of the art really shone through.

There were some great moments where the leads and chorus singing in tandem was fantastic to hear up close.

The final song, featuring the entire cast, asks Do You Wanna Dance? The answer is yes, we did.

The band, in full view, were excellent and the cast all showed their talent and enthusiasm which made it great fun to watch. Congratulations on a fantastic, feel-good production.

The performance continues this week each night from 7.15pm, ending on Saturday.
