Having started out as fresh-faced teens the best part of 20 years ago, Ash take to the stage in Cardiff still showing all the enthusiasm of youth.

Unashamedly relying on their hit-packed back catalogue, Ash hit the ground running - storming through A Life Less Ordinary early on to get a packed and sweltering Barfly jumping.

It's got to be said newer material like Dead Disciples and Joy Can't Stop Us don't get the same rapturous response, but they more than demonstrate Ash still have what it takes to craft crackingly catchy indie-rock.

Now reduced to a three-piece after the departure of guitarist Charlotte Hatherly, Ash of 2010 are a learner and meaner prospect, effortlessly blasting through stadium-sized anthems Oh Yeah and Goldfinger.

Support band The Undivided have a slightly thankless task, being confronted by a crowd that mostly came hear Kung Fu, but plug away bravely and by the end their Muse-meets-Placebo efforts have won them a few new fans.

But it's Ash with the likes of Girl From Mars and storming set-closer Burn Baby Burn who everyone came to see - and the boys from Northern Ireland leave no doubt the fire still burns bright.
