There is fun for all the family at the annual Owen Money Theatre Company panto with a few twists on the traditional desert island story of Robinson Crusoe.

The funnyman himself has left the show these last few years, but still produces the panto and was also present at the first night last week.

Mike Doyle takes the lead as Crusoe, and is full of fun and jokes - many of them old but delivered in such a way that they are still very funny.

He's well supported by a small but lively cast, incuding Richard Tunley, as the evil Bluebeard pirate, and Ian Lilley as panto dame Mrs Crusoe.

Rhian Griffith is Crusoe's love interest Polly Perkins, while Sam Davies is very adaptable as the Sailor, and Witch Doctor and also Konga the Gorilla, who leaps and bounds around the stage with commendable energy.

The New Cottage Dancers bring a flash of colour and youthful vigour with their many dance routines and Llinos Daniels is lovely as Miley the mermaid.

Possibly the routines most enjoyed by the youngsters were the glow-in-the-dark, under the sea dance with fluorescent fishes and lobsters floating around the stage apparently alone, and children from the audience being brought up on stage to chat to the cast.

It's great night out for both young and old and the show runs until December 28.
