ISLWYN Acoustic Guitar Club will open its doors for the last time in the company of award winning guitarist Chris Fry, pictured, on Friday, January 20.
During the last ten years the club hosted numerous musicians as it promoted a wide range of styles before deciding to call it a day.
The final evening at the Jubilee Bar and Events Room at Wattsville will be in the company of the club’s very own virtuoso and chairman.
Fry, from neighbouring Abercarn, is a leading Welsh classical guitarist, teacher and member of progressive rock band Magenta.
Voted Classic Rock Society Magazine Guitarist of the Year for 2008, his repertoire includes the works of Spanish, South American and English composers.
He will be joined on the night by current and past members of Magenta.
Doors open at 7.30pm with an open mic session, followed by the concert with Fry and a few friends from 8.45pm.
Tickets cost £6 (with concessions £5) and will be available on the door.
