THE Borough Theatre autumn season is now on sale. Brochures are available fromthe box office.

The season opens with the return of The Rat Pack, a sensational show featuring the music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin andSammy Davis Jr. Tickets are already selling fast for Mid Wales Opera – this acclaimed company return with Mozart’s masterpiece, Don Giovanni. There’s a wealth of drama including Mappa Mundi Theatre Company with Shakespeare’s classicAMidsummer Night’s Dream.

Idle Motion (artists in residence at the Oxford Playhouse) present The Seagull Effect – set in the great storm of 1987. Black Rat Productions return with the award-winning comedy drama Neville’s Island. For children and families there’s a half-term treat with Mike Kenny’s Scarecrow and at Christmas Theatr Clwyd bring a fantastic family show, Humbug! – an adaptation of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

There’s also a great music programme including Andy Fairweather Lowand Joe Brown.

Celtic Fiddle Festival showcases fiddlers Kevin Burke, Christian Lemaitre and Andre Brunet. Maddy Prior and The Carnival Band return with their showof Christmas music.

Tribute bands include The Sounds of Simon (a tribute to Simon & Garfunkel), The Johnny Cash Roadshow, And Finally… Phil Collins and two nights of Talon – The Best of Eagles. Choreographer Joanna Young presents her newfulllength production Re-creating PenGwyn – an intriguing, captivating, quirky piece of dance theatre inspired by a penguin! Joanna is the Borough Theatre’s ‘dance buddy’ – an artist in residence scheme which pairs venues with choreographers.

There will also be stand-up comedy, with stars of BBC’s Live at the Apollo Josh Widdicombe and Seann Walsh and Marcus Brigstocke’s The Brig Society.

The Borough Band are joined by West End star Peter Karrie for their annual concert; the Concept Players present the comedy thriller The 39 Steps; Breakthrough Productions return with The Big Kid’s Book of Adventure and the award-winning AAODSJuniors present the Welsh Premiere of Whistle Down The Wind.

Abergavenny Camera Club host the return of wildlife photographer Andy Rouse and international demonstrator Elizabeth Graham creates amazing floral designs for the Abergavenny Flower Arrangement Society. Keith Davies and his own ‘Memphis Mafia’ return with his popular tribute to Elvis. The Borough Band return for their Christmas concert and Abergavenny’s churches come together for an evening of carols and Christmas celebrations.
