FIREFIGHTERS are currently tackling a blaze at the Wentloog freightliner depot, with rail services suspended between Newport and Cardiff as a result.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue said a number of appliances are there and it will release more information soon.

National Rail Enquiries said on its website that the incident has caused delays to services travelling between the stations from 5.15pm until further notice.

Buses are replacing trains with journey times extended by up to an hour.
