LEGENDARY boxing trainer Enzo Calzaghe is set to put eight celebrities through their paces in a gruelling new reality TV show.

The Newbridge-based trainer will team up with undefeated world champion son Joe to put the celebs through a Calzaghe-training camp similar to one Joe would have gone through before his world title defences.

The Argus has learned that celebs being sounded out to take part include camp X Factor star Rylan Clark, former EastEnders favourite Dean Gaffney and former Crimewatch frontman Rav Wilding.

Others rumoured to be taking part include TV chef Dean Edwards and Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke’s pal, rugby league player Keith Mason.

Those confirmed are Calum Best, son of Manchester United football great George Best, and singersongwriter Jethro Sheeran, cousin of Ed Sheeran.

Best took to his Twitter profile to tell his followers: “Can all my lovely followers please follow my new show I’m buzzing about @calzaghecamp. Thanks.”

A source close to the show said: “We are doing the promo at the moment.

Although it is not commissioned yet, it’s 90 per cent there. We are just in the final stages of negotiations.

“The show’s going to happen, it’s just what channel it is going to be on.”

It is understood that the proposed format for the show would see eight celebrities compete in a series of six physical challenges set by Enzo and Joe, with one contestant being eliminated each week, until just two celebrities are left.

Then the final two celebs will have a box-off in front of a live crowd, hopefully somewhere in Gwent.

The mole said: “This show is completely unique.

“The contestants are going to be with each other 24-7 for the duration of the show, living in each other’s pockets.

“Enzo can’t wait to get them in the gym.”
