THE Environment Agency Wales is advising people in South Wales to be alert for possible localised flooding on Friday.

Strong winds are expected to bring a band of heavy rain to south Wales on Friday. This rain could fall as snow in some places and is anticipated to continue into the night but clearing overnight into Saturday.

This could lead to the possibility of excess water on road surfaces on Friday and flooding from blocked drains and small streams.

River levels could rise and flood alerts may be issued but the likelihood of flooding from larger rivers is low.
