AMATEUR astronomers were joined by the BBC’s Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury in observing the night sky at Llanthony Priory, near Abergavenny.
Members of Abergavenny, Usk and the Heads of the Valleys Astronomy Societies gathered at the priory earlier this month to take part in filming.
Equipped with a range of telescopes, they were at odds with the weather, so a planetarium was installed in a nearby barn.
Julia Bradbury hosted the event which included guest speaker Ruth Coulthard, of the Brecon Beacons Park Authority, who spoke about the recent ‘dark sky’ status and what it will mean for the area.
The episode is due to be screened on BBC 1 at 7pm this Sunday.
