A NEWPORT teen author who recently signed a three book publishing deal with Random House is having her first book released.

The paperback of Beth Reekles' book, The Kissing Booth, will be published tomorrow. The Bassaleg School pupil signed a three book deal with publishing giant Random House in November 2012 and a film deal has already been optioned by Random House Children’s Screen Entertainment.

The teenager, who lives with her parents and sister in Newport, and is studying for A levels in Physics, Maths, French and Spanish, wrote the stories in her bedroom.

Beth said: "When I received my first copy of The Kissing Booth, I was blown away – to think of walking into a shop and seeing it on a shelf is incredibly exciting.

"If I actually see someone buying it, or even looking at it I’ll probably scream with excitement!"

The Kissing Booth is a romance starring pretty, popular, but never been kissed Elle Evans, and super cool player Noah Flynn. When Elle decides to run a kissing booth for the school’s carnival she locks lips with Noah and life is turned upside down.

Rights have already been sold to Random House Children’s Books in the US, which published the ebook on April 9 with the paperback to follow on May 14, and also to publishers in Spain, Turkey, Greece and Hungary. The Kissing Booth is published by Corgi tomorrow and costs £6.99.
