A study of 1,200 employees found that two thirds of Welsh people were happy, closely followed by those in the South East of England.
Only half of workers in Northern Ireland, and 54 per cent in the North East of England, said they were happy.
The youngest workers were the happiest, while the best sectors for being content in were professional services, arts and culture.
The least happy jobs were in finance and the legal profession.
