HUW Lewis, Welsh minister for communities, is to today call for more women to be in positions of power and influence.
A report out today will say that gender inequality, stereotyping and segregation are still evident in the Welsh workplace.
Mr Lewis said the Welsh Government wants Wales to be a country that has a diverse workforce.
“By appointing more women into high profile roles, we can set the right example for young girls as they look ahead to their future careers," he said.
He said the costs of childcare is a major concern and said he was looking at ways to improve access to affordable childcare.
