FLUFFY guests at a Chepstow school enjoyed a stay in the Celchick Manor.
Pupils at The Dell Primary marvelled at a number of chicks, which hatched from eggs live in the classroom.
The reception youngsters made their own little hotel, similarly named to Newport's Celtic Manor, for the new arrivals.
Farmer Stuart Hodge, who sells poultry near Usk, gave the schools the eggs, which have been in an incubator for just over two weeks.
The chicks breaking out of the eggs on Monday caused a lot of cheer, said reception teacher Lisa Davies.
"The children and the adults couldn't keep their eyes off them," she told the Free Press.
There was an added surprise for the children, as Mr Hodge delivered a baby with webbed feat and a more rounded beak- a duckling.
It captured the story of The Ugly Ducking for the eager youngsters, who also saw how a chick from the project last year had grown into a rooster.
