TWO teenagers are being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with an assault which has left a man fighting for life.
The youngsters aged 15 and 17 were arrested in the early hours of this morning.
Their arrest comes after a 54-year-old man suffered serious head injuries following an attack on Kingsway, Newport, around 9.45pm Wednesday night.
Three men aged 51, 56, and 58 who were arrested on suspicion of assault have been released and will face no further action. Another man aged 18 remains in custody.
The service road underneath the Kingsway Centre car park was cordoned off as police investigated yesterday, but the car park remained opened.
Police received a 999 call at 9.45pm following reports a man had been seriously injured. He was taken to the city's Royal Gwent Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
