NEWPORT YMCA is hosting a cycling fundraising event in aid of further events for children in the summer.
On June 1 cyclists will gather at the Newport YMCA centre to take part in the YMCA Tour de Y, a national fundraising cycling event, designed to increase participation in physical activity and raise funds for local YMCAs and local YMCA projects.
The charity is hoping that the first year of Tour de Y will attract over 700 participants and raise over £36,000 for local YMCAs and local YMCA projects.
The event, taking place from noon to 1pm, aims to raise general funding for more YMCA events to take place for children over the summer at the Newport YMCA building.
The Newport YMCA is also hosting a Bank Holiday funday event on Monday from 1pm to 6pm.
The event, that will feature a climbing wall and face painting, also aims to raise general funding for the organisation.
