Police appeal after fishing gear stolen in Malpas
GWENT Police are appealing for information following a burglary and attempted burglary in the Malpas area reported this morning.
A shed on Malpas Road was broken into between the hours of 10pm last night and 6am this morning. A large quantity of high value fishing equipment was stolen.
The attempted burglary was reported at Gary Evans Fishing Tackle Shop on Redland Street. This occurred at approximately 12.30am this morning (22nd May). Damage was caused but no entry was gained.
Officers believe the two incidents may be connected and ask that anyone with information, or anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time calls 101 quoting log 60 22/05/13 or contacts Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
