Riders gather in Bettws for the charity bike ride
A BIKE ride in memory of a baby girl who died after just 17 days took place yesterday.
Nick Giulletti and Paula Varty's daughter Millah Varty-Giulletti was born 13 weeks early on December 21 2011, weighing just two pounds and one and a half ounces.
Last year her parents held a bike ride to raise cash for the neo-natal unit at the Royal Gwent Hospital – vowing to make it an annual event.
Ms Varty said the ride went well with more than a dozen people taking part on Saturday from Newport High School in Bettws to Cwmcarn Forest Drive.
The Newport family was yet to have money in from the fundraiser yesterday[SUN], but was hoping to raise £400 to £500.
