ARE you aged 8-15 and live and attend school in the Newport area and fancy joining this year’s panto chorus cast for Beauty and the Beast at The Riverfront?

Panto auditions are on Saturday, September 14, with registration opening at 10am. To audition you must be aged under 14 years and 11 months on January 5, 2014.

Beauty and the Beast is the spell-binding story of a selfish prince who is destined to spend his life hidden in his castle in the guise of a grotesque beast.

Resourceful heroine (Elin Llywd – Pobol Y Cwm, Stwnch) rushes to the rescue with her madcap French pals to try and save the day.

Baddie Scaramouche will want plenty of boos, while panto dame Dominique Derriérre (Lee Mengo) and her slapstick son Potty Pascal (Richard Elis – EastEnders) will have plenty of crazy hare-brained capers.

The show will be directed by Colin Blumenau and the team who brought you Jack and The Beanstalk, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, Cinderella and last year’s hit, Robin Hood.

The panto runs from December 3 until January 5. Tickets from The Riverfront Box Office, on newport.gov.uk/panto or by calling 01633 656757.
