A FAMILY-RUN brewery was visited by Blaenau Gwent MP Nick Smith on Small Business Saturday as part of a Labour-led drive to support local companies.

Mr Smith visited Tudor Brewery and got an insight into the process which creates the six drinks they offer. The business, on Llanhilleth Industrial Estate, has been racking up awards as they bid to become a fixture in local shops, pubs and restaurants.

The visit tied in with the Labour drive to support small businesses in communities, championing their work and encouraging others to look local for top services on their doorstep.

Mr Smith said: “ We may bemoan the tax arrangements of the massive multinationals, but with the pressure on the temptation to just shop online or buy the big brands can be strong.

“Meanwhile, we have fantastic businesses just a few miles down the road – and this is what celebrating Small Business Saturday was all about. I urge everyone this Christmas to begin the drive to make Small Business Saturday a mindset that works all year round.”
