A TAEKWONDO club has donated £250 to buy a new sleigh for Santa.
The donation from the Ponthir club to the Caerleon Santa Committee will help replace Father Christmas’ current sleigh which is over 30 years old.
Many of the 32 club members have been visited on the old sleigh, when committee members dropped off their presents on Christmas Eve, so were keen to help.
Peter James, club leader said: “I really believe that local communities should work together for mutual benefit and this was our way of demonstrating our commitment.”
Each year a dedicated team of volunteers work hard to deliver presents to the children of Caerleon on Christmas Eve, visiting approximately 400 homes supported by a large team of helpers.
Nick Beckett, from the committee said the donation was “very much appreciated”.
