THE A4042 has been closed in both directions between the Abergavenny Hardwick roundabout and Llanellen due to flooding.


Three people and a dog in a car were rescued by Abergavenny firefighters this afternoon.

The car was pulled to safety after it became stuck in flood water in Llanvihangel Crucorney.

The old Severn Bridge is now closed to high-sided vehicles and one lane remains closed because of strong winds and restrictions.


A TRAMPOLINE has been blown from a back garden and into the middle of a Blackwood road.
A fire crew from Bargoed was called to Clos Gwendraeth in Fairview at around 10am this morning as the "dangerous structure" was blocking part of the road. It had been swept away due to high winds.
No-one was injured in the incident.


PONTYPOOL Active Living Centre is to remain closed until further notice.
The centre was closed on December 23, after sustaining flooding in storms which battered Gwent.
On December 24 Torfaen Lesiure Trust said all facilities at PALC apart from the pool would re-open on Sat December 28, between 11am and 3pm.
But since December 27 it has said: “PALC will remain closed until further notice.”


Firefighters are pumping flood water from a property in Blackwood.




THE A465 in Monmouthshire is partially blocked near Pandy because of a fallen tree.

The blockage is between the Werngifford junction in Pandy and the B4347 Pontrilas Road junction in Pontrilas.


SOUTH Wales Fire and Rescue say flooding is possible on the River Usk in Monmouthshire and Newport, the River Rhymney and for the River Ebbw this morning.


ONE lane is closed on the old Severn Bridge M48 because of strong winds and restrictions. The speed limit is set to 40 mph.


Because of flooding at Abergavenny, trains between Newport and Hereford are being delayed by up to 30 minutes.
