SNOW has hit parts of Gwent with one Blaenau Gwent school being closed as well as reports of snow in Monmouthshire.

Blaenau Gwent council announced Brynmawr Foundation School has closed due to heavy snow fall.

At Parc Bryn Bach in Tredegar the park gates, visitor center, cafe and driving range are open as normal but the golf course is closed due to the snow. The paths around the site are also very hazardous.

The council is advising residents that information regarding gritting routes and where to find your nearest salt bin can be found at the council website.

A spokesman said: “As of 6am this morning our gritting teams have been out completing their assigned routes.
