MANY of Newport’s Post Offices are going through a modernisation process, and I would encourage constituents to take part in a consultation to move the Bridge Street Post Office to a new branch located in Sovereign Arcade, Kingsway Centre.

The proposed new branch would be known as the Newport Crown Post Office, and would have seven counter serving positions in a modern open-plan design. Three self-service Post & Go machines would also be available for customers to use and the branch would be in the heart of the regenerated city centre.

This consultation will end on April 2 and the Post Office is seeking the views of all its users.

You can participate by visiting postofficeviews.co.uk and entering the code 01363299 or by writing to Freepost Your Comments.

You can also email comments@postoffice.co.uk with your views.

Patients across Wales are being given the opportunity to rate their GP in a national survey from the Community Health Council.

The survey asks how easy it was to obtain an urgent appointment to booking yourself in for a routine appointment with your GP.

It also asks patients to indicate how long they waited to be seen once they had an appointment.

Last week I visited the fantastic Tiny Rebel Brewery premises in Maesglas.

Tiny Rebel has won many gold and bronze medals for their unique flavoured beers, and they are a great example of a local business doing really well. I look forward to continuing to follow their progress in the near future.

It was very pleasing to see many of my constituents at my recent information event in Malpas Library.

Following the event, I had the opportunity to visit Mr Robertson, a constituent who is benefitting from the great work that Care and Repair performs across Newport.

If you feel that Care and Repair may be able to assist with housing difficulties such as a leaky roof or installing mobility aids call 0300 111 3333.
