HOMELESS people will enjoy a traditional turkey dinner this weekend following a generous food donation in the lead-up to Easter.
Welsh pie maker Peter’s has donated treats including the birds and chocolate eggs to homeless shelters across south Wales.
The Salvation Army will assist people who are homeless or in need during the Easter weekend.
Carol Alderton, from the Newport Salvation Army corps, said: “This gesture will go a long way over the Easter holidays. We’re grateful to Peter’s for their support.”
In addition to the turkeys, the pie maker has also donated chocolate eggs to Salvation Army staff.
“After Christmas, Easter is the next date to enjoy a traditional turkey dinner,” said Peter’s marketing manager Claire Conway.
“The donations are a simple gesture to support the continued good work of the Salvation Army.”
