A CWMBRAN teenager shaved her head to raise more than £1,500 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Natalie Palmer, raised a total of £1,520 which will be used to help transform the lives of young people with cancer in South Wales.

Natalie said: “The whole afternoon was great fun and everyone really got behind the head shaving fundraiser.

“I’m very proud to have raised so much money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.”

Natalie shaved her head at a tea and cake afternoon hosted in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, organised by Emily Clark.

Emily, 16, received life-saving treatment at a specialist TCT unit in Cardiff for a non-Hodgkin lymphoma called Burkitt lymphoma after being diagnosed in December.

The afternoon of fundraising raised £2,500 in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Teenage Cancer Trust Fundraising Manager for South Wales, Debbie Jones said: “We’ve been so impressed with the incredible enthusiasm of Natalie, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part.”

Teenage Cancer Trust relies on donations and all money raised by Natalie will go towards the maintenance of the specialist Teenage Cancer Trust unit at University Hospital Wales, Cardiff, funding specialist staff and supporting free cancer awareness sessions the charity runs in schools, colleges and universities across the region.

Emily’s mum, Donna, explained that Emily spent much of this year at the TCT facility and that the staff there have been wonderful.
