AN ANNUAL charity golf tournament in Maesycwmmer was inundated with entries this year, with 30 teams taking part to help raise funds for Disability Sport Wales.
In total, 120 golfers took part in the recent Charity Golf Day at Bryn Meadows Golf Club, ranging from complete beginners to regular players.
The tournament has been a regular fixture of the Sport Caerphilly and the Friends of Newbridge Leisure Centre sporting calendar since 2011, with more than £3,000 raised this year. All proceeds will help provide disabled children with access to high quality and inclusive sporting opportunities.
Prizes for the golfers were donated by local businesses and refreshments for the day were donated by Sainsbury’s.
