POLICE are hunting for a convicted sex offender who has links to Newport.
Brian Ward, 57, absconded midway through his trial at Newport Crown Court in November 2013 which found him guilty in his absence.
Although the hunt for the Pontyclun man is centred on Rhondda Cynon Taff, he is said to have links to Newport and other areas in the UK such as London.
Detective Inspector Dave Peart, said: “We have been looking for Brian Ward for some time and are keen to get him into custody.
“It is my belief that he is still in the Rhondda Cynon Taff area, and somebody is helping him to evade us.
“I will remind that person that they are committing a serious offence - do the right thing, contact us via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111,” he added.
