A BLAENAVON man has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of assault with intent to rob.
Daniel Green, 21, of Hillside Avenue in Blaenavon, had only been out of prison for one month when he attacked a man on Osborne Road in Pontypool and attempted to steal money from him.
A swift response from local officers resulted in Green being identified and arrested within hours of the offence.
He had previously been sentenced to 15 months in a Young Offenders Institute in July 2013 for burglary.
He appeared before Cardiff Crown Court on April 24.
He was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
