'GREAT Newport brewery in a great Newport pub' is the slogan for a night celebrating the best of the city’s beer habits this week.

This Thursday Newport’s only microbrewery, Tiny Rebel will be teaming up with The Lamb on Bridge Street.

To accompany the beer, there will be live jazz and swing, showing off the many talents Newport has to offer.

Gareth Williams, who established the brewery with brother-in-law Bradley Cummings in 2012, will be there on the day meeting and talking to punters.

He said: “It’s a good pub and it’s good beer.

“We work quite closely together, so we’re having a meet the brewer take over. It will be just Tiny Rebel beers on sale all night.”

Five different cask ales will be available during the takeover at one the city’s landmark pubs.

Both the brewery and the pub have formed part of Newport’s success stories as The Lamb re-opened last summer after a £200,000 refurbishment.

Meanwhile, Tiny Rebel has gone from strength to strength in the last 18 months culminating in the opening of its first premises, The Urban Tap House on Westgate Street, Cardiff, in October of last year.

The firm also began exporting to Singapore in January.
