If you had to be stuck in a lift with someone, who would it be and why?
Warren Gatland. The changes he has brought to Welsh rugby have moved it along leaps and bounds. He’s sort of my hero.
What is your biggest fear?
At the moment it’s that we might end up heading into a really right-wing Europe, causing a situation not unlike that which Hitler caused in the 1930’s and 40’s.
Do you have any superstitions?
The only one would be that I try to avoid walking under ladders. I’ve worked on a lot of building sites before and you often find them dripping paint.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Metallica – Enter Sandman
What is the most expensive thing you’ve bought, not including property?
An eternity ring for my wife.
What’s the best advice you’ve had?
Listen, listen, listen and listen more – that’s the best advice I could give anybody.
What is your indulgence?
Gardening gets me away from everything, it’s my relief.
What item could you live without?
Family – family is everything.
