1.If you had to be stuck in a lift with someone, who would it be and why?

My wife first obviously, but then it's very difficult. But thinking of local links Sir Terry Matthews would be a very interesting person to spend some time with, his life experiences would be fascinating I'm sure.

2 What is your biggest fear?

Ed Balls ever finding his way to be Prime Minister!

3. Do you have any superstitions?

Not much really but I am cautious not to put new shoes on a table. This caution comes from years of being told not to by my wife and others more than any superstition, and I also say thank you when a black cat crosses my path. I was always told this was a good luck sign.

4.If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

It would probably be Sage of Lamberene by Sam Cardon & Kurt Bestor.

I love this piece of music it really helps me to relax, unwind and get things in to perspective, it feels full of hope.

5. What is the most expensive thing you've bought, not including

property?

It was a new John Deere Tractor in 1997 back in the days when farming was making a little money.

6. What is the best piece of advice you've been given?

Focus on what you are doing today as it will shape your tomorrow!

7. What is your indulgence?

My size probably gives this away - Danish Pastries and Chinese food

8.What item could you not live without?

It would have changed over the years but right now it would be my iPad. I think it's the best invention of recent times.

9.If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I have one dodgy leg, so I would like to put that right so that I could go running.

10. Where are you next going on holiday?

I expect we will take the caravan down to Cornwall. After Monmouthshire it's my second favourite county.
