TIME is running out to nominate your inspirational Newport heroes for a prestigious city-wide award.

The annual Newport’s Night of Honour award, now in its fifth year, is still on the hunt for nominations for individuals or organisations who have done something amazing.

Organisers are after nominees for its four categories: Newport’s Braveheart Award, Young Person of the Year, Above and Beyond Award and Neighbour of the Year.

Hayley Corley, who is organising the event at the King’s Church, said the awards, which will be presented in a ceremony on Sunday, September 28, bring the city together. Previous winner Anthony Trigg said: “I would urge people to nominate because it can make a real difference to a person’s life.”

It’s nice to hear about the good news and is good for people’s self esteem.”

An audience of 400 attended the event last year, and this year beckons to be just as successful with the Mayor of Newport and MP Jessica Morden set to present awards.

Nominations must be in by Friday, September 5 by emailing noh@kings-church.org.uk or writing to The King’s Church, 71 Lower Dock Street, Newport, NP20 1EH.
