A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following the Caerleon hit-and-run crash at the weekend which seriously injured three elderly people.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman confirmed that a Caerleon man has been arrested following the crash and is currently in police custody.
She said the 20-year-old had been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving; failing to stop at a road traffic collision and failing to report a road traffic collision and added that police inquires were ongoing.
Police carried out address checks around the Caerleon area as they searched to find the driver and are currently looking through CCTV footage from the area as part of their inquiries.
The spokeswoman also confirmed that the three people injured were in a “stable condition” and remained in the Royal Gwent Hospital where they were treated for serious injuries.
