DEVELOPERS behind the £315 million Circuit of Wales racetrack in Ebbw Vale have showcased the project to more than 200 UK and Chinese business leaders.
Representatives of The Head of the Valleys Development Company attended the first UK-China bilateral investment conference yesterday (Fri) in London on Friday, to present the project.
The event conference, hosted by Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt. Hon. chancellor George Osborne MP, and China’s vice-premier of the People’s Republic of China, Ma Kai, looks at bi-lateral cooperation in growth, reform and innovation, encouraging support from Chinese investors.
The Head of the Valleys Development Company were there to put forward the Rassau-based racetrack as a potential investment to foreign interests.
Michael Carrick, chief executive of the HVDC, said: “We are delighted to present the Circuit of Wales development to the large Chinese delegation. Working with the UKTI RIO team to profile the Circuit of Wales as an investment in the automotive and regenerative sector is an exciting step for us.”
It was announced last month that the Circuit of Wales would host the British round of the MotoGP World Championships from 2016.
The Circuit of Wales is expected to attract an estimated 750,000 visitors a year, and is hoped to generate up to 6,000 jobs.
