A NEWPORT restaurant has won an award for its Asian cuisine.
The New Lahore, in Lower Dock Street, Newport, is the city’s longest established Indian restaurant, and was named as ‘Best Restaurant of Newport’ at the Welsh Asian Food Awards in Cardiff on Monday.
This is the latest success for the restaurant after it was the only Welsh curry house to be named in a list of top 20 British curry houses by the Sunday Telegraph food section last week.
Owner Shah Shafee said, “I feel wonderful to have won this award. I want to share this honour with all my loyal customers and staff who have supported the restaurant since its opening in 1961”.
