A Newport woman completed the Cardiff Half Marathon in a wheelchair on Sunday.
Lisa Cook, from Alway, Newport crossed the finish line in a time of 5hr 11min 15sec despite having no experience.
Ms Cook is the only member of the Run Newport group who uses a wheelchair.
Maxine Rhodes, who coaches the group, said: “I’m so proud of her and I’ll never forget her crossing the line.
“Hopefully it will encourage other wheelchair users to run as we’re the only club in Newport to offer the service to adults.”
The longest distance Ms Cook had previously completed was 14km in Nash, Newport, but she has been training regularly with the Run Newport group.
Run Newport, a social club, is aimed at those who have not got a lot of running experience and meets three times per week.
