AN organisation fighting climate changed has been awarded further funding from the Welsh Government and the Big Lottery Fund to continue to support Gwent projects.
Renew Wales will use the money to improve the support it provides to 191 community groups, including Maindee Action Group and a youth group in Blaenau Gwent.
Maindee Action Group identified a need among low income families for providing low-cost food and reducing food waste and teamed up with Fareshare Cymru to create its own food bank.
A youth group in Blaenau Gwent worked with Promo Cymru and Renew Wales mentors to produce a film about recycling called This is Our Story.
The Welsh Government and Big Lottery Fund have agreed to provide about £268,000 to help Renew Wales, hosted by The Development Trusts Association Wales, in partnership with the Centre for Alternative Technology, to continue to support a number of community projects.
Renew Wales coordinator Bethan Gritten said: "Renew Wales has enabled me to provide versatile support to a wide range of groups, both new and existing.
"Renew Wales shows that the whole really is more than the sum of its parts. "There has been a step change in community-led action on climate change in Wales in the past two years which would not have happened without it."
