HE’S training for the coldest race on earth, and auctioneer Paul Fosh is getting some unusual help to do it – from a pasty shop.

Mr Fosh, 48, will be one of just 25 people taking part in the Arctic Ultra marathon challenge which will see him cover between 120 and 350 miles in the Yukon, northern Canada, pulling his supplies for the entire race behind him on a sled. He will encounter temperatures of -30 degrees Celsius, the potential for blizzards, ice floes and encounters with bears.

Mr Fosh looking to acclimatise prior to the event, has been offered the use of a freezer in a Cornish pasty shop just off Monmouth high street.

The father of four, has set his sights on completing the gruelling 120/350 mile challenge to raise £15,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Owner of Pasty Heaven in Monmouth, Peter Williams, got in touch after reading about Mr Fosh’s need for a freezer and offered his industrial fridge.
